The trick to folding a fitted sheet is the order: corners first, folding second.
Step 1 — Nest the corners. Hold the sheet lengthwise. Tuck one hand into an elastic corner, reach through, and grab the opposite corner. Pull it inside so the two corners are nested together. Repeat with the other two corners. Now all four elastic corners are stacked in one pocket.
Step 2 — Lay it flat. Smooth the nested sheet on a flat surface with the elastic edges facing up.
Step 3 — Fold into a rectangle. Fold the longest edges in toward the center, then fold again so the elastic band is hidden inside.
Step 4 — Square it. Fold the strip in half, then in half again. Done.
The method works for any size — twin, queen, or king — as long as you nest all four corners before you start folding.
