Entropy is a concept from physics that roughly tracks how spread out energy or disorder is in a system. In everyday language, it is the idea that systems tend to drift from neat order toward less ordered states.
In a closed system, entropy tends to increase over time. That is why heat spreads, ice melts, and broken eggs do not unbreak themselves.
People often use entropy to mean chaos, but the science version is more precise than that. It is about probability, energy distribution, and the direction natural processes tend to go.
