Most phones can scan a QR code with the built-in camera app. Open the camera, aim it at the code, and wait for the link or prompt to appear on screen.
If nothing happens, check whether QR scanning is enabled in your camera settings, or try a dedicated scanner app. Good light and a steady hand help more than people expect.
The one thing not to do is tap random QR codes from untrusted sources without checking where they lead. The code is just a shortcut. It is still pointing somewhere.
