Open the App Store, tap your profile photo or the My Account button, and then tap Update next to any app or Update All if you want everything at once. Apple’s iPhone guide says apps from the App Store update automatically by default, but you can still check manually whenever you want.
If you want control over automatic updates, go to Settings, tap Apps, tap App Store, and turn App Updates on or off. If an app will not update, Apple also recommends restarting the iPhone and checking for App Store or payment-method problems before you keep trying.
This is one of those iPhone tasks that is easier than it sounds once you know where Apple hid the control. The App Store is the manual path; Settings is the automatic path.
If updates keep failing, the problem is often not the app itself but a connection, storage, or account issue.
Once you know the two places to check, the fix is usually quick.
