Breathwork is a broad label for using intentional breathing patterns to influence how you feel. Slow breathing, longer exhales, and structured drills can all shift your nervous system toward calm or alertness.
It can absolutely help with stress, anxiety, and body awareness, especially when it is simple and repeatable. That said, some breathwork claims are bigger than the evidence. It is a tool, not a miracle.
If you try it, start with a safe, gentle pattern rather than aggressive hyperventilation-style exercises. The best version is the one you can actually repeat when life gets noisy.
