How do I turn on two-factor authentication?
Short answerFind the security settings for your account and add an authenticator app, passkey, or security key.

Open the security or login settings for the account you want to protect and look for two-factor authentication, multifactor authentication, or sign-in verification. Then choose the second factor you want to use.

An authenticator app or security key is generally stronger than SMS, though text codes are better than nothing. After setup, save recovery codes somewhere safe in case you lose the device.

Once it is on, test a login from another device so you know the setup works before you need it for real.
