How do I change my password?
Short answerGo to your account settings, find Security or Sign-in, select Password, enter your current password, then type and confirm the new one. Use a unique password you haven't used elsewhere.

Most services follow the same pattern: log in, go to your profile or account settings, find the Security or Sign-in section, and select “Change password” or “Password.” You’ll need your current password first, then you enter the new one twice. On Google, for example, that path is Security → How you sign in to Google → Password.

A strong password should be at least 12 characters, mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols, and not be reused across different sites. A password manager makes this trivial — you only need to remember one master password, and the manager generates and stores unique ones for every account. Changing your password regularly is less important than making sure each one is unique and not part of a known breach.

After you change your password, most services sign you out of other devices. That’s a useful security feature — if someone had your old password, they lose access immediately. Keep your recovery email and phone number up to date so you can reset your password if you ever get locked out.
